U.S. gun culture runs deep in the country’s veins. So much so that Americans are often blind to its true impact. In fact, firearms are the leading cause of teenage deaths and suicides in the U.S. They are also the most common method of domestic violence in America.
But these statistics remain unknown to the average American. So, Change the Ref, a non-profit organization founded by the parents of Joaquin Oliver, a victim of the Parkland High School mass shooting, set out to remind Americans that guns are behind some of the most horrific data points in the U.S. This creative data display serves as a stark reminder of the far-reaching effects of the American gun epidemic.
