Permiso was created by a group of experts who know how to find the bad guys. There are a ton of cybersecurity companies that can endlessly fire alert cannons at security teams without telling them what to do or what to care about. The industry is tired, from a technology and brand perspective. Permiso has built an easy-to-use product that quickly shows users what is happening in their cloud in plain English. Their approach to creating their product was very influential in how we thought about building their website.
The copy was written with balance in mind—it needed to delight and inform. We needed to find a balance between capturing their irreverent brand voice and informing their audience about product functionality.
Using the copy, we created wireframes where we explored layout and illustration concepts. This phase is where we took the complicated, technical concepts being explained in the copy and visualized them in fun, sometimes surreal illustrations. It was also the phase where we explored micro animations and found several opportunities for hidden easter eggs throughout the site.
The new site does a much better job explaining product functionality, engaging with visitors, and separating them from their competitors. The user experience is easier and the site feels much more on-brand. The average engagement time on site increased by 166.7% (from 15 seconds to 40 seconds) and they saw an increase in site visitors by 13.8% (from 2.9k to 3.3k) in the first month.
