The One Show has a rich legacy of honoring some of the most groundbreaking ideas, created by some of the most remarkable minds in creativity.
About the Work
Car configurators have always been the same. They let you see the car in red, silver and black, try on different rims and maybe rotate the car 360 degrees. But the VW Beetle has never been just another car. It has a shape, character and personality unlike any other. And the 2015 Beetle was no exception. So we decided to Reconfigure the Configurator. While car configurators most often use 3D to show their cars, we wanted to take the 3D and also the 360° experience to a more exciting and fun level. And at the same time bring out the personality of the Bug (Beetle). In China, the Bug translates as Jia Ke Chong or Armored Bug, so we wanted play off of this insight. But at the same time provide access to features as well.
