About the Work
In 2016, Johnsonville wanted to remind the world that even though they’ve grown into the country’s undisputed king of sausage, they’re still the same independent, family-owned butcher shop that Ralph Stayer founded in 1945. At their core is “The Johnsonville Way,” a philosophy that empowers the company's employees to take a stake in every part of the business. This year, we proposed that Johnsonville marketing be approached the same way. Every piece of the campaign should come from Johnsonville employees—even the commercials. This particular spot comes from 18-year Johnsonville member, Jeff. Not only does Jeff narrate the commercial, he also stars in the tranquil forest scene. Every time the Wisconsin native tries to take a bite of his breakfast sausage, a different forest animal comes up and starts asking him questions. Jeff’s factory colleagues now call him “Hollywood.”
