About the Work

The Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity (CCGSD) want to end the discrimination of LGBTQ people in sports. Why? Because from professional sports all the way down the schoolyard, gay athletes are singled out. The CCGSD created a campaign to make the point that in life and in the media, gay athletes should just be treated as athletes. These ads ran on TV on sports specialty channels, and online - directly after the 2016 summer Olympic games (themselves marred by a very public 'outing' of a gay athlete. The ads were designed to make people think about the issue, and provided information on how to contact the CCGSD and learn about how the organization is working to make sports more inclusive.
