About the Work
Summer of 2017, Japan announced their core focus for achieving the SDGs: “Public-Private Action for Partnership (PPAP). This visual identity for Japan’s approach towards achieving the SDGs, depicts the public and private sector as threads of warp and weft. The two threads developing as it is woven, visualizes the SDGs principle; “Leaving No One Behind,” by creating a safety-net that embraces all. The varied combinations of the two threads represents new possibilities through diversity and the future that is woven. The visual identity was applied to 5 posters, which were displayed at the UN High Level Political Forum of Sustainable Development and at the UN Gala hosted by Japan, conveying Japan’s vision and actions for SDGs to other leaders of the world.
