About the Work
Absent' is our short film made on behalf of UK registered charity Freedom4Girls and released online through DAZED. With it our objectives were simple; to raise awareness of the severity of period poverty affecting women within the UK and to help dissolve the stigma around discussing periods. It is estimated that 49% of girls in the UK have missed an entire day of school because of their period, and this is a foundation of the story we aim to tell in our short, dramatising what is now a seemingly common occurrence.
