There are many countries where same-sex marriages are still illegal, denying couples fundamental rights, such as the right to inheritance. The community faces persecution and complete social isolation, with members being murdered, assaulted, and marginalized.
The Smart Legacy™, created by IF THEN inc., offers an innovative technological solution that protects and executes the last will of LGBTQ+ community members through the use of blockchain technology. Blockchain, being immutable, ensures confidentiality and a self-executing system.
The platform records the physical assets of couples through a "tokenized shared digital trust fund," and the smart contract acts as an inventory of the owner's assets. Once a death alert is issued, the digital contract automatically transfers to the beneficiary's name.
This innovative technological solution protects and executes the last will of LGBTQ+ community members, allowing couples to easily and freely dispose of their spouse's last will in the event of death, without the need to expose themselves, face social judgment, or deal with archaic and homophobic laws.
