About the Work

In order to raise awareness around World First Aid Day, realistic, life-sized decals of fallen people were placed at the bottom of movie theatre stairwells during the Toronto International Film Festival. At first glance, one saw an unconscious individual in need of help. On closer inspection, however, a small sign that read ìKnow what to doî and the Red Cross logo became visible. Red Cross workers were also on hand to distribute First Aid packages and encourage people to enroll in first aid classes. This simple idea was able to generate both national and international press as well increase enrollment numbers for the Red Cross.
