About the Event

Summer is over (except in Miami) but there is still time to have fun, win awards and share some booze. One Club Miami has partnered with the Miami Surfriders will run a fundraiser at the beach where teams will compete for the Cube Awards. Agencies, organizations, studios, freelancers, artists, activists, students… all South Florida creatives are welcome. Half of the proceeds will go towards Bahamas relief efforts.

What’s next?

  • Sign In: Gather your team (2-4 members).​

  • Inspire: Upon check-in your team will get a creative brief to develop a social media campaign for an environmental issue. You will have 2 hours to start posting your ideas using the hashtag #CreativeBeachMia and tag @OneClubMia.

  • Win: 1st, 2nd, 3rd place will win the Sustainable Cube Award made by visual artist Rafael Vera.

FAQ

  • The jury will be announced two weeks before the event. 
  • The campaigns will be reviewed at 6:30PM.
  • The awards will be given on the same day of the event.
  • Min 2/ Max 4 people per team
  • Deadline to sign up your team is September 30. October 2
  • To sign up as a TEAM - MEMBER PRICE, all participants must be ONECLUB members
  • To sign up as a CORPORATE TEAM your agency, organization, or studio must be a corporate member. Click here to see if you qualify as a corporate member or contact justin@oneclub.org to became one.

What to bring?

  • Umbrella, towel and sunblock.
  • You can bring your snacks but we will have drinks and refreshments.
  • You can bring balls, rackets... but we’ll have a frisbees, volleyballs and beach tennis rackets.
    Available upon request on the day of the event - first to ask, first to get.

What not to bring?

  • Single-use plastic (no plastic water bottles, cups, utensils, etc.) Surfrider Stainless Steel cups will be available for sale.
  • Glass, ceramics and/or styrofoam containers (not permitted on the beach).
  • No dogs with the exception of service dogs as defined under ADA (dogs are allowed on the beach).

Speakers

Jason Musante

Judge

Jason was recently named to Adweek's "Creative 100," he partners with some of the world's most innovative Fortune 500 companies to build their brands and launch new ideas. With a creative approach that blends creativity, technology, and data, he leads teams with disparate backgrounds to solve his client's most pressing marketing challenges. Currently, Jason is Chief Creative Officer at Huge, setting the integrated creative vision across the agency's thirteen global offices. Since joining, Jason has led Huge to slew of new business wins including Realtor.com, Brooks Running, Vanguard, and more. In 2016, Jason led Huge to its best performance at Cannes and D&AD. In 2017, he helped Huge launch its first national television campaign starring Hamilton's Daveed Diggs. In 2018, the agency made its Super Bowl debut with a spot staring Keegan-Michael Key earning a #6 ranking from Ad Age.

Shiran Teitelbaum

Judge

Shiran Teitelbaum is currently VP, Associate Creative Director at Edelman. Before joining Edelman, Shiran worked at BBDO Toronto, Deutsch LA and Saatchi & Saatchi LA. She has developed award-winning work for brands like Volkswagen, Pedigree and Toyota. Her awards include The One Show, The Clios, Cannes Lions, Webby Awards, to name a few. Outside of advertising, she also has managed to make her cheeky Jewish clothing line Unkosher Market a viral sensation. And has created "the most instagrammable house ever" on Airbnb.

Soham Chatterjee

Judge

Soham was born and raised in India and is an alumnus of Miami Ad School. He has worked in India, Miami, NYC and currently is a Senior Creative at Leo Burnett. He also worked with Human Rights Foundation as a Creative Director for the project Flash Drives for Freedom, which aims to end Kim Jong Un's regime by smuggling flash-drives filled with relevant content, inside North Korea.  

Soham has won plenty of awards at The One Show, Art Director’s Club, The Clios, Cannes Lions, D&AD, ADC Young Guns, Andys, LIA, Facebook Global Awards, Epica, etc. He has served as a jury at The One Show, ADC, The Clio Awards, One Club Young Ones, Next Creative Leaders, Cannes Young Lions, AdStars (South Korea), Creativity and New York Festivals. He is also a faculty and speaker at Miami Ad School, Portfolio Center, and Chicago Portfolio School.

Soham has been named as one of the 30 under 30 most creative people in advertising by Business Insider. Twice!

Michael Sotelo

Judge

Mike has been leading digital transformation and experience design for ALMA since 2016. Prior to joining he held the position of Head of Marketing at Facebook for Pan Regional LATAM and US Multicultural with a focus on platform adoption by advertisers. He also held positions as Regional Lead Strategist at Sapient.Publicis and eCommerce Lead at Royal Caribbean International.

Amanda Brencys Carbonato

Judge

Amanda is a Creative Director making culturally relevant content (formerly known as ads) at Anomaly. She has worked at 72andSunny NY, BBH New York, Droga5 New York, DDB New York, Saatchi&Saatchi Stockholm, Grey Hamburg and Leo Burnett Sao Paulo amongst others.

Seth Bloomgarden

Judge

Seth was introduced to “Leave No Trace” and the need for environmentally conscious sustainable practices while being trained as a wilderness/environmental leader and educator in East Africa in the early 90’s. While living in the back country of Africa for many months at a time he needed to learn and implement firsthand the importance of minimizing waste.  Every item of waste generated was required to be packed out on his back. Seth has been a leader in the Environmental Non-Profit world ever since, holding several board positions with leading high-profile impact driven organizations. He currently serves as Chairman of the Surfrider Foundation Miami Chapter.
