If you're ready to put together your portfolio or have one already, join us on November 6th from 10 am-1 pm at M.AD School of Ideas. We have workshops and one-on-one reviews. You will spend 15 minutes with a local professional - creative directors, account planners, strategists, media planners, social media strategists, PR, copywriters, recruiters - you get the idea. Gain insights you can apply to make your portfolio shine, widen your network, and maybe even meet your next boss. Bring your fully-charged laptop/tablet to show your work. Not there yet? Rene Alvarez
Political Strategist at Impact PoliticsRene serves as Impact Politics’ Vice President, and oversees all digital strategy and production for political campaigns. Before working in the realm of ideas and movements, he did corporate advertising and branding for Macy’s, Verizon, and the World Wrestling Federation. For the past 15 years, he’s overseen and helped guide the interactive and digital efforts of numerous Fortune 500 companies as well as nonprofits and governmental agencies. He currently teaches “Foundations of Political Advertising” at the University of Florida’s School of Journalism Masters Program.
Marco Caridad
Art Director at Redline Media GroupMarco creates works inspired by romantic and existentialist stories in search of universal hope. Caridad is an art director for the Hard Rock account at Redline Media Group. He has worked on projects for Lenny Kravitz, Miami City Ballet, Got Milk, Visit Florida, among others. Previously worked at Istituto Marangoni and Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB) as an adjunct professor; he is also the co-author of “Syllabaries: Images and Words” and “Desarrolla Tu Creatividad con Ejercicios Teatrales.”
Michael DeJesus
VP Associate Creative Director at FCB Health NYMichael, for 18+ years, has worked for diverse markets in San Juan, Miami, LA, and New York. He has crafted meaningful work for brands like Lexus, McDonald's, Amazon, Toyota, P&G, Kellogg's, and Coca-Cola for Multicultural, LGBTQ, and General Market. His influence led to strong work recognized on international platforms such as Clio, One Show, London International, Cannes Lions, El Sol, and NY Festivals.
Federico Giraldo
Co-founder & Creative Director at El PuertoFederico is the Co-founder and Creative Director at El Puerto, a branding and content creation agency based in Miami.
Before establishing its shop, he worked at agencies in Colombia, Argentina, and the United States, winning awards in The New York Festivals, Clio, El Ojo de Iberoamérica, and Effie. As an independent, he has time and energy to serve younger generations as a teacher at M.AD School Of Ideas.
Ana Gonzalez
Creative Director at Virtue WorldwideAna is a Creative Director at Virtue Worldwide, the agency of VICE. She started working as an art director and has worked up the ranks for over 20 years at agencies in New York, Miami, Boston and even her home of Puerto Rico. She is an avid traveler, Ana has worked on some of the most beloved travel brands- Emirates Airline, Four Seasons and Amex Travel as well as non travel brands such as HBO Max, Coca-Cola, Proctor & Gamble and Ford. Her work has been awarded at the One Show, Cannes and London Festival. She is passionate about advocating for inclusivity and the empowerment of women in the advertising industry.
JACKIE HERNADEZ
Associate Connections Director at The CommunityJackie is an Associate Connections Director at Miami creative agency, The Community. She developed a strong multicultural expertise focusing on US Hispanic and LATAM markets, helping brands connect with consumers in a culturally and contextually relevant way. In her role at The community, she leads connection strategies for clients including Constellation brands, Mondelez brands, Sauza, Saucony, Google, Verizon Wireless, Kroger, Walmart, Ad Council, Oceana, Bank of the West, YouTube, and others.
Milton Lebron
Co-founder & Executive Creative Director at Might & MatterMilton is the Co-Founder and Executive Creative Director of Might & Matter. For over 20 years, he has served as a driving creative force behind major brands like Four Seasons, McDonald’s, PepsiCo, Four Seasons Resorts, Lexus, MTV, Google, NBCUniversal, Toyota, HBO, and Walmart, among others. In addition to developing creative and digital campaigns for integrated marketing communications efforts in the U.S. and Latin America, he has also crafted global digital campaigns for fashion and beauty icons Marc Jacobs and La Prairie.
Beatriz Pardo
Art Director at RepublicaHavasBeatriz is an Art Director who brings brands to life through striking visual approaches across a variety of disciplines. She is at the forefront of developing brand identities – propelling a fresh perspective forward for client communications in an array of industries, including hospitality, wellness, luxury, and art. She has a knack for advertising and social media and enjoys pursuing and developing ideas that help to bring about positive social change.
Albena Petrus
FIU Lecturer & Founder at Portfolio MavenAlbena is a multicultural art director who has worked on international accounts for agencies in the US, Cuba, and Bulgaria. Being a data-driven creative, she has developed brand identities and advertising campaigns for corporations all over the world that is inspired by her curiosity about people and their interaction with others. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses for Florida International University's School of Communication and is the founder of Portfolio Maven, a creative portfolio consultancy service.
Sergio Rodriguez
VP Executive Creative DirectorSergio is the current ECD at CCOMGROUP. One of Miami’s most awarded agencies over the last 4 years. Among his most notable assignments throughout his career are Chevrolet, Toyota, Florida Power and Light, United Healthcare, US Navy, among others. Many of which he lead at a national level. His 20+ year journey started in Puerto Rico, and has taken him across the US. Always happy to make the creative process not just award worthy, but also one everyone loves to be a part of.
VASSOULA VASILIOU
Brand Strategist at VV CreativeVassoula has extensive experience designing and managing branding projects for international design firms Fitch, Landor, and XMPR, Vassoula was tapped to be the in-house Creative Director for Office Depot, where she directed numerous strategic business and marketing initiatives for the private brand group. Vassoula successfully guided product innovation, visual brand expressions, packaging, product line segmentation and guideline systems for numerous global organizations.
Marlene Venero
Sr. Copywriter at Casanova//McCannMarlene Venero recently joined Casanova//McCann, an award-winning agency located in California. Not only is she a published author, but she has about 8 years of experience as a bilingual copywriter in Puerto Rico, Barcelona, and Miami. She has experience working at agencies like BBDO, DDB, and Havas while also working with a wide variety of well-known brands such as Smirnoff, LEGO®, Bacardí, Telemundo, Toyota, Hyundai, M&M’s, and many more. Marlene is highly dedicated to creating disruptive and creative advertising.
