Get your portfolio in shape before the end of the year so you can apply for that job or summer internship you have been eyeing. If you are not there yet, come to learn where to start and how to put it together.
Join us on November 5th from 10 am-1 pm at M.AD School. We have workshops, presentations, and one-on-one reviews. You will spend 15 minutes with several local professionals - creative directors, account planners, strategists, media planners, social media strategists, PR, copywriters, recruiters - you get the idea. Show them your best work or ask for their advice. Gain insights you can apply to make your portfolio works for you. Bring your fully-charged laptop/tablet and your best attitude.

Rene Alvarez
Political StrategistRene serves as Impact Politics’ Vice President, and oversees all digital strategy and production for political campaigns. Before working in the realm of ideas and movements, he did corporate advertising and branding for Macy’s, Verizon, and the World Wrestling Federation. For the past 15 years, he’s overseen and helped guide the interactive and digital efforts of numerous Fortune 500 companies as well as nonprofits and governmental agencies. He currently teaches “Foundations of Political Advertising” at the University of Florida’s School of Journalism Masters Program.
Marco Caridad
Art Director + Visual ArtistMarco challenges the temporal and physical expectations of artistic mediums through their direct interaction. Caridad is an art director for the Hard Rock account at Redline Media Group. He has worked on projects for Lenny Kravitz, Miami City Ballet, Got Milk, Visit Florida, among others. Previously worked at Istituto Marangoni and Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB) as an adjunct professor; he is also the co-author of “Syllabaries: Images and Words” and “Desarrolla Tu Creatividad con Ejercicios Teatrales.”
Dimitry Chamy
Artist+Designer+EducatorDimitry is a transdisciplinary artist, designer, and educator. Working from a queer, mixed Haïtian-Lebanese immigrant perspective, he explores speculative futures, generative systems, and symbolic world-building through co-creation and participatory storytelling. He is an Ellies Creator Award recipient from Oolite Arts and holds an MFA in Graphic Design from Yale University. Chamy is a Research Associate Professor, Resident Artist and founding faculty at the Ratcliffe Art + Design Incubator at Florida International University in Miami, where he bases his studio.
Will Freyre
Creative+StrategyWill Freyre is a recognized leader in the advertising and communications space, with more than two decades of experience in creative direction, marketing strategy, and digital innovation. His career includes leading multidisciplinary teams for multiple national ad agencies such as República Havas and Zubi Advertising. He has earned a reputation for excellence in delivering award-winning campaigns, websites, applications and experiences for top brands such as Google, Facebook, Intel, Square, Walmart, Absolut, Chivas, Budweiser, CVS Health, Janssen, Aramco, Ford, Toyota, and many others. In addition to digital expertise, Will has significant experience in multicultural marketing, as well as diversity and inclusion. He currently leads Metropolis CSX; offering creative services, marketing strategy and execution, along with digital experience production. Will is also a lifelong skateboarder and spends his free time hitting local skateparks with his kids.
ISABELLA GUARDIA
Senior Art DirectorFrom intern to senior art director, Isabella has worked on Leo Burnett’s major clients. Currently focusing on creating campaigns for Kellogg’s diverse array of products, Isabella has produced work for Frosted Flakes, Cheez-It, Froot-Loops, Nutri-Grain, Club Crackers, and many more. Outside of agency work, she works on branding and creative direction for startups within different industries.
Alberto Jaen
Founder & CEOAlberto Jaen was a Creative Director and Executive Creative Director for multinational companies at Leo Burnett, BBDO, and JWT NY for fifteen years. During this time, he received 23 international awards from the Art Directors Club, The One Show, Cristal Festival Europe, Young Guns, Eurobest, New York Festival, or Cannes Festival. He was also a jury member at different International Advertising Festivals like the New York Festival or AdStar in Asia. He is the Founder & Creative Director of plus305 (a creative boutique for social impact with offices in Miami/Madrid/Zurich), some of their clients are VIACOM, Real Madrid, Air Europa, The Idea Center, 3M, SONY Music, Swatch or ELMA. He is also a Co-Founder of HULA App (a Zero Waste App based on the bartering of products and services which recently became a winner at the UN Global Contest for Circular Economy 2020).
Andrew Martineau
Creative AltruistAndrew Martineau is an award-winning creative with a 25+ year career in advertising, marketing, and design. He has had the pleasure of working for many local and multi-national advertising agencies, established companies, and start-ups in industries ranging from upscale real estate and resorts to shopping centers. He has a unique skill set that combines the experience of an award-winning creative director, designer, publicist, event planner, and marketing director that intimately understands every aspect of the marketing mix and can create and execute effective marketing campaigns from concept through to completion. He has been fortunate over his 25+ year career to nurture relationships with various individuals in diverse creative communities, including; film, art, music, technology, and fashion. Those relationships influence his thought process and aid in making him become one of the most prolific creative problem solvers in this new media landscape.
Beatriz Pardo
Art DirectorBeatriz Pardo is an Art Director who finds joy in creating alluring, comedic, and daring concepts. At the intersection of thoughtful campaigns and intentional visuals, her work draws inspiration from the tropics, psychology, music, and Miami, her honorary home and creative playing field.
Mafer Perez
Senior StrategistMaria Fernanda "Mafer" Pérez is a Senior Strategist at GUT Miami, working on brands including Philadelphia Cream Cheese, SPANX, Delimex and more, creating strategies that are deeply-embedded in cultural insights and help businesses thrive through meaningful creative executions. Over the course of her career, Mafer has worked on many of the world's largest brands, including American Express, Lexus, KFC, Kellogg's, Mazda, Sanofi, and AXA, among others.
Albena Petrus
FIU Lecturer + Founder at Portfolio MavenAlbena is a multicultural art director who has worked on international accounts for agencies in the US, Cuba, and Bulgaria. Being a data-driven creative, she has developed brand identities and advertising campaigns for corporations all over the world that is inspired by her curiosity about people and their interaction with others. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses for Florida International University's School of Communication and is the founder of Portfolio Maven, a creative portfolio consultancy service.
Camilo Rojas
Principal + CR-eative DirectorCamilo Rojas is a multi-disciplinary designer and creative entrepreneur. He graduated from New World School of the Arts in 2008 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Design and currently runs his studio CR-eate, effectively balancing concept, design, art, and function for people, brands and interior spaces worldwide. He also co-founded the Miami Startup Angle Platform. His experience has allowed him to blur the lines between traditional graphic design and art. Camilo uses words and letters as an essential means of expression by linking reflective materials, hidden messages, repetition, and the double meaning of words to inspire, incite reflection, enlighten, convey powerful statements, and start a conversation. Camilo's work has been featured in a wide range of art and design publications and has gone on to exhibit worldwide in group exhibitions, biennales, and parallel events, including; The Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial in 2016 and 2018 in the United Arab Emirates, Typography in Contemporary Art in Germany and international exhibitions in China, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, and the US.
Rebecca Rovirosa-Capote

She has extensive experience with global brands and entrepreneurs providing creative human capital solutions and business development strategies. Martin Stuart
Creative DirectorI’m a Creative Director, based in Miami, with more than 14 year’s experience who worked for Hispanic, US market and global brands.
Throughout my career I worked for brands like Volkswagen, Netflix, Verizon, DirecTV, Movistar, Procter and Gamble, Paramount Pictures, among others. My work has been awarded in several festivals such as Cannes, Clio, Effie, Fiap, Sol, Wave, Diente (Círculo de Creativos Argentinos), Lápiz de Oro, El Ojo de Iberoamérica y la Copa de Iberoamérica. But most important, still hunger to do great stuff and have fun while doing it.
Diego Yurkievich
Director M.AD SchoolDuring his career, Diego has helped many of the world’s top brands achieve success in the marketplace, including Audi, Chrysler, Dodge, McDonald’s, Nike, State Farm, Subway, T-Mobile, Toyota and Verizon Wireless, among others. He has received numerous industry accolades along the way, from Cannes Lions and Clio Awards, to the One Show and the Art Directors Club.Prior to joining as Director of M.AD School, Diego lead, for 5 years Conill Saatchi & Saatchi’s creative teams.
