scratch / Maharashtra tourism

Submitted By mahesh gharat

Description

We used innovative decals that were pasted on cars parked in and around prominent monuments in Mumbai such as the Gateway of India, which is a popular tourist attraction. When seen from a distance the decal looked like a scratch on the surface of the car. This caught the car owners unawares and got them to read the message “You wouldn’t let anyone spoil your car. So why let them deface your monuments?”

Objective

Maharashtra has a number of historic monuments and World Heritage structures that are defaced by vandals every year. We wanted to raise awareness and get people involved in helping stop this vandalism. The message was targeted at the general audience across the state.

Technical Challenge

Although vandalism is highly prevalent most people just turn a blind eye. So the challenge was to place the message where they least expected it and still make it very relevant.
