Description
Royal Enfield started out making the Enfield Rifle before deciding to preserve their customer base by encouraging them to ride motorcycles. Instead of the alternative. Which was to shoot each other.
After identifying our intended target, the idea for the print ad was pretty straight forward.
Objective
Interest bikers in the very latest old-fashioned motor-cycle technology. The challenge was to steal some market share from the Japs and Yanks whilst stirring up nostalgic feelings in those who could still remember the second World War.
Technical Challenge
We decided to write and art direct the ads in the same style as they did back in the 30's and 40's. No point in reinventing the wheel.
