Description
manageIVpain.com is an initiative directed at pediatric nurses to stress the importance of, well, managing IV pain in children. Kids rank IV sticks as one of the most traumatic of all their hospital experiences.
Objective
Re-emphasize to pediatric nurses how traumatic and painful IV sticks are to kids. Once they're driven to the manageIVpain.com site, they're given lots of info, stats, and testimonials, and encouraged to sign-up for the advocacy group, RN VOICE.
Technical Challenge
We wanted the IV tube visual to be "real," but getting the tube in the shape we wanted was a little difficult, as it tends to kink unless straight. We used illustrator Dennis Clouse to draw the "monster," then essentially tacked the tube around the outline of the illustration.
