zig’s Chicago office led the branding of Elysian, a 60-story uber-luxury hotel and residence that recently opened in Chicago’s affluent Gold Coast neighborhood. Elysian is poised to redefine the Chicago hospitality experience with a unique operating model built around delivering remarkable moments – a promise that the brand has been built to bring to life. To create the building blocks for this new concept, zig was tasked with articulating the brand at every imaginable touchpoint, as well as consulting on planning and positioning decisions. We focused on the idea that nothing, from the key cards and valet tickets to the face of the telephone, was insignificant. It’s the subtle, unexpected touches that happen during a hotel experience that will ultimately make it memorable. Whenever possible, we simplified and personalized every aspect of the experience. We looked at each piece and asked how we could touch someone personally and make them remember us.
Objective
The Elysian Brand Book was created to bring the hotel to life for investors, stakeholders and employees both before the property opened, and for those who are not physically there to experience it for themselves. In the Brand Book, we establish the distinct voice of the property. Elegant without being stuffy, very approachable, with a touch of wit – much like the property itself.
