Crazy Marriage Proposal / Neuro Drink
Submitted By Jonathan Josell
Description
Crazy Marriage Proposal features a rooftop proposal. The boyfriend jumps up on a seat flush with the wall and tells his assembled friends he has something important to ask his long-term girlfriend. He asks for someone off-camera to give him the ring, which is overthrown. The boyfriend reaches for it, falls off balance and goes over the edge of the roof.
She's shocked - runs to the edge to look over only to release he's on an air bag with signs around him asking her to marry him.
Objective
Crazy Marriage Proposal was created for our client NeuroDrink. We researched current viral trends that would allow us to highlight a unique event that would also accommodate having the drinks in frame at the same time. Our main objective was to have people mention Neuro Drink, as much as they discussed the stunt.
To do this, we made the product as obvious as possible, because we believed that the content was so compelling that it would socialize regardless of whether people thought it was real or not. Making this decision was a chance we chose to take, and it paid off. We have had over 8.5 million views between 2 youtube channels, AOL, MSN, Break.com and a myriad of other sites. The drink is mentioned so frequently, that it is almost on every page of the 6000+ comments.
Ray William Johnson covered it, mentioning the drink, which gave us an additional 6.5 million views. The video was also covered on over 2 dozen TV shows and is featured on over 900 blogs.
Technical Challenge
The biggest challenge was finding a suitable location for the stunt and then creating the blocking that would create the suspense, without fully giving it away. That took a lot of time. The rest, frankly, was easy - and fun. Even the prep and the stunt went flawlessly (seven times).
