International soccer sensation Lionel Messi, chart-topping singer Lorde, Les Misérables costume designer Paco Delgado and highly acclaimed director Adam Hashemi – all captured within two short minutes in Samsung’s new spot “The Developer,” as a second iteration of the global “Design Your Life” campaign created by Leo Burnett.
"The Developer" showcases the revolutionary GALAXY Note 3 and GALAXY Gear, which takes the simplest everyday tasks and helps the user invigorate their passions. Captured through beautiful cinematography, this ad flows much like a musical, beginning with children echoing a special version of the hit "Royals" by Lorde. A shadowy, mysterious figure emerges and, as the song continues, the man uses his GALAXY Note 3 and GALAXY Gear to spearhead a secretive (and seemingly devious) project. After wrecking balls and demolition trucksclear the space, the figure is revealed as Messi and the children rejoice at what turns out to be a newly built soccer field as a spot of refuge in a dystopian tale.
