Creative Showcase
Beauty Amplified / Visit North Carolina
Submitted By Ellen Huffman
Description
People aren’t the only ones drawn to North Carolina for its diverse geography and scenic beauty. Unique settings, animals and even art forms indigenous to the state have also been captivated. The Beauty Amplified print campaign highlights distinctive attractions in North Carolina and explains why everything can’t help but be held here.
Objective
To drive interest in North Carolina as a leisure destination and to VisitNC.com, we were charged with creating three new print ads that highlight distinct attractions within the state. Each ad had to represent one of the state’s three main regions (mountains, piedmont and coast) and showcase the unique beauty found there. After narrowing down our options, we settled on The French Broad River in the mountains, Romare Bearden Park in Charlotte and the Coquina rocks in Kure Beach.
Technical Challenge
Before we traveled from one side of the state to the other, each shot had to be planned, prepped and perfectly choreographed. We scouted by helicopter, maps and on foot. We researched GPS coordinates, sunrise/sunset times and even tidal charts. We obtained permits and trekked equipment through rocks, sand and woods. And after all that, we miraculously ended up with three representations of North Carolina that we’re pretty proud to share.
