About the Work

At the Chicago Auto Show, Nissan would reveal the new 2013 Pathfinder to the world. But Nissan's model had no interior. We chose Kinect technology and a big screen to put people in a Pathfinder virtually. Pioneering one of the first commercial applications of Kinect for Windows SDK, the 'first person' experience ups the ante on controller-free, gesture-based digital experiences in automotive.

Beyond typical hand gestures and swiping motions, Pathfinder Kinect supports natural body movement--enabling users to walk around the car, bend to inspect the wheels, and explore the spacious cabin--offering the next best thing to hopping into the vehicle. The experience was such a success that Nissan is working to roll out the technology to dealer showrooms across North America.
