About the Work

The Restaurant of Mistaken Orders is a restaurant where all the servers have dementia. Because the servers have dementia, there is a possibility that your order might come out mistaken. What you ordered, may or may not be what you get served. However, this restaurant puts customers in a frame of mind where a mistaken order can be casually accepted...even appreciated. The restaurant can teach us a valuable lesson on how open-minded acceptance and enjoying our differences. Our challenge was to create entirely, a new environment where people with dementia are accepted in society, and in that environment conceive a never like before experience. How can we make "a space where people with dementia work in" into a space that everyone enjoys? The success lied in optimizing various touch points, enabling to design meticulously as one whole experience
