Description
Background:
Many LGBTQI talents find themselves living apart from their spouses if one of them is offered a job in another country in Asia. Because in 47 of 48 Asian countries, same-sex marriages are still not recognised, so spouses won’t be given a dependant pass to travel and stay together for long periods. The only way to remain together in Asia is to find a job quickly for their spouses.
As a leading recruiter for various MNC companies, ManpowerGroup has witnessed relocation difficulties for LGBTQI talents due to this, and helping their spouse find jobs in Asia with inclusive companies has not been easy too.
While we can't change marriage laws overnight, ManpowerGroup believes we can help talents overcome this barrier so that LGBTQI talents don't have to give up the best career opportunities in Asia.
Idea:
While there may be thousands of job postings on websites, finding an inclusive company that hires without discrimination is still tricky in Asia. ManpowerGroup launched PridePass, a movement and platform that aggregates job opportunities from inclusive companies in one place so that LGBTQI talents can find ideal jobs faster in Asia in order to relocate with their same-sex spouse.
Outcome:
Since its launch, more than 900 jobs were made available for LGBTQI talents even during a limiting COVID year for opportunities. Job opportunities span across Asia including Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Korea and more. Unlike another rally or awareness-building stunt, PridePass is an ongoing service that transcends a day or an event. Companies such as Signify (a subsidiary of Philips Lighting), FIS, Clear Channel and many more continue to tag all their jobs with #PridePass as we continue to connect with more companies such as Google, Levis, BP and more who have reached out to get their jobs featured with PridePass.
