The Young Ones competition is one of the most acclaimed advertising, interactive and design student competitions. It has a tradition of excellence dating back to 1986.
Speciesism is an archaic belief, that animals exist solely to advance, benefit, and be owned by humans, despite being emotional, sentient beings themselves. It is a problem that continues to plague the lives of innocent animals. Despite PETA’s efforts, people remain blind to their own prejudice, and exploit animals to meet their own “needs”.
We know that the key to fixing a problem is understanding it. And in order to understand a problem, one must experience it.
So we've designed an immersive experience, disguised as an escape room tailored to thrill-seekers. It forces people not only to listen to our message, but also experience it for themselves, first-hand.
Our experience will open human eyes to the way they’ve perceived animals in the past.
It will educate audiences on the plight animals face, encouraging true empathy and understanding.
And above all, it will encourage our audience to join PETA’s fight against speciesism.
