About the Work
Driven by a mission to enhance the little-known species of the St. Lawrence River, Chasse-Marée is an artisanal cannery that promotes local produce. The company focuses on whelks, a mollusk with generous cream-colored flesh finely speckled with black, which are abundant in the cold waters of the St. Lawrence. The graphic approach combines modernity and heritage. The can design is reminiscent of a buoy, and the wordmark evokes a wave, reflecting the marine world in which Chasse-Marée operates. The color palette references the tradition of Portuguese preserves, while the typographic treatment provides a modern contrast.
